In the following table are listed all the major coatings manufactured by Urethane Coatings, with the first coat of each product shown in Column 1. The second coat is shown on top row. So, if for example, you want to know if you can apply Tungseal over Monothane 45, look along the Monothane first coat row, until you reach the Tungseal second coat column. The table shows that this procedure is OK. However, the converse is definitely not advised.

(A) Monothanes interior coatings: suitable for ALL timber species, cork, particle board and concrete

1. Monothane HS 50 Gloss: single pack moisture cure polyurethane (50% solids) providing extremely good flow and leveling properties. Compatible with Monothane 45 Gloss, Monothane 44 Gloss and Monothane low sheens. Coverage 10m2 per litre.

2. Monothane 45 Gloss: single pack moisture cure polyurethane (45% solids), providing extremely good flow and leveling properties. Compatible with Monothane HS 50 Gloss, Monothane 44 Gloss and Monothane low sheens. Coverage 10m2 per litre.

4. Monothane - Semi Gloss: single pack moisture cure polyurethane that provides a 70-80% reflectance, formulated to meet modern reduced sheen design criteria. Apply over Monothane HS 50 Gloss, Monothane 45 Gloss, Monothane 44 Gloss or mixed with Monothane Gloss. Coverage 10m2 per litre.

5.Monothane - Satin: single pack moisture cure polyurethane that provides a 50-60% reflectance, formulated to meet modern reduced sheen design criteria. Apply over Monothane HS 50 Gloss, Monothane 45 Gloss, Monothane 44 Gloss or mixed with Monothane Gloss. Coverage 10m2 per litre.

6. Monothane - Matt: single pack moisture cure polyurethane that provides a dead flat finish. Sometimes used as an additive to Monothane Gloss to adjust gloss levels for a specific requirement. Apply over Monothane HS 50 Gloss, Monothane 45 Gloss, Monothane 44 Gloss or mixed with Monothane Gloss. Coverage 10m2 per litre.

(B) Timberseal

Timberseal is a rapid drying very flexible interior sealer: Suitable for ALL hardwood and pine species, particle board and all types pf cork tiles. Coverage 10m2 per litre.

(C) Timber stains

Compatible with all Urethane coatings timber finishes. Timber stains are available in Antique Brown (Japan Black), Black, Jarrah, Mahogany, Oak, Teak Brown and Walnut. Coverage 12m2 to 20m2 per litre.

5. Urethane wood stain reducer / extender: designed to be added to timber stains manufactured by Urethane Coatings to dilute colour, up to a dilution ratio of 1:1. Can be added to wood stains at rates of up to 100 mls per litre until the required dilution of colour is achieved. Price: $85 + GST (10 litre)

D) Oil based

1.Tungseal: a resin modified Tung oil which is suitable for interior coating of ALL timber species. It will greatly reduce the occurrence of edge bonding of tongue and groove floors. Use Tungseal where a more natural timber look is required. Coverage 10-12m² per litre.

2.Modified Oil Gloss: a resin modified oil, providing improved durability over alternative oil finishes which is suitable for interior coating of ALL timber species. It will greatly reduce the occurrence of edge bonding of tongue and groove floors. Coverage 10-12m² per litre.

3. Modified Oil Satin: it is not as subject to sheen variation as low sheen polyurethanes. Coverage 10-12m² per litre. Price: $156 + GST (20 litre)

4. Natural Decking Oil: contains Tung and Linseed oil, formulated to provide long lasting protection for all exterior timber structures. This includes decking, outdoor furniture, unpainted weather boards, door jambs, window frames, fences, steps and railings. It offers a low sheen, semi-transparent finish highlighting the natural features and grain of timber, protecting and extending the life of timber and weathers naturally without cracking and pealing. Coverage: softwood decks: 6-8m² per litre; hardwood decks: 8-10m² per litre.

(E) Water based

1. Puraseal: environmentally and user friendly, fast drying water borne sealer developed to seal your timber and parquetry floors. This ensures that the subsequent coat of Purathane remains on the surface to maximise the wear layer. Puraseal retains the natural colour of timber with reduced risk of edge bonding. Coverage 10m2 per litre.

2. Purathane Gloss: water borne polyurethane finish developed to provide your timber floor and parquetry with extremely hard wearing and long lasting protection. It emits low VOC's (volatile organic compounds) and it is user and environmentally friendly. Coverage for Purathane 10m2 per litre.

5. Puramate: water borne wet edge extender, transparent liquid (water clear), developed for addition to Purathane. Recommended for use when coating in hot conditions, especially in large areas where it is difficult to maintain a wet edge. Price: $14 + GST (1 litre)

6. Puramax: water borne anti rejection opaque fluid (slightly milky) developed for addition to Purathane. Recommended for use when rejection occurs - coating pulling back to form 'craters' or 'fisheyes'.

1. Monothane Catalyst: designed for addition to Monothane HS 50 Gloss, Monothane 45 Gloss and Monothane 44 Gloss. Price: $53 + GST (1 litre)

2. Modified Oil and Tungseal Catalyst: designed for addition to Modified Oil Gloss, Satin Tungseal and Natural Decking OIl. Recommended for use in conditions of low temperature and with timbers containing high levels of oil waxes. Price: $27 + GST (1 litre)

3. Flowmate: wet edge extender, designed for addition to Monothane Gloss, Semi Gloss, Satin and Matt to enhance flow characteristics. Recommended for use in conditions of cold and heat, especially large areas where it is difficult to maintain a 'wet edge'. Price: $18 + GST (1 Litre)

4. Flowmax Antirejection fluid: designed for addition to Monothane Gloss, Semi Gloss, Satin, Matt, Tungseal, Modified Oil Gloss & Satin. Recommended for use when rejection occurs (when the coating is pulling back to form 'crates' or 'fisheyes'). Price: $23 + GST (1 Litre)

5. Thinners: May be used to reduce or thin Monothane 50 Gloss, 45 Gloss, 44 Gloss, Semi-Gloss, Satin, Matt, Duothane Part A and Part B and Timberseal. Some timber species (notably Brush Box, Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Tallowwood) secrete oils and waxes which condense on the timber surface. To remove these natural contaminants dampen a clean rag with Urethane Coatings Thinners or Cleaning Solvent and wipe over the floor. Every 4-6 m² rinse the rag (or replace with a clean rag) in clean Thinners or Cleaning Solvent, thereby removing surface contaminants rather than further smearing contaminants over the floor.

(G) Cleaning solvents

1. Cleaning Solvent: blended for washing and cleaning all rollers, lamb wool, applicators, brushes and equipment. This solvent is not designed to be used as a thinner for Urethane coating products.

2. Timber Clean: a mild acid solution formulated to restore the natural colour of exterior timber by removing mould, mildew, dirt and stains. Suitable for decking, outdoor furniture, unpainted weather boards, door jambs, window frames, fences, steps and railing. The working area has to be clean and thoroughly washed down with water. Coverage 4-6m2 per litre of mixed Timber Clean (1 litre of Timber Clean will make a solution to clean up to 24m2).

(H) Polishes

1. Purashine Gloss: a water borne timber polish, durable and hard wearing polishes, developed to provide your commercial timber and parquetry floors with extra protection particularly in very high traffic areas. This product emits low VOC's and is user and environmentally friendly. The floor has to be thoroughly clean and completely dry before applying the polish. Coverage 40-50m2 per litre.

Feast Watson MasterTouch

Unique combination of refined oils to restore and enhance the natural beauty of timber. MasterTouch polish will rejuvenate coatings and help to diminish fine scratches. It is silicone free to help protect the timber coating.

Directions for use

Surface Preparation:

Bare Timber: not suitable for uncoated timber.

Coated Timber: Surfaces must be clean and dry.

Application for Floors:

1. Pour MasterTouch Polish directly onto a water dampened applicator or mop

2. Wipe sparingly over the floor

3. Polish off using a soft dry cloth

4. Warning: Floors will be slippery whilst wet

Clean Up:

1. Clean application cloths in warm soapy water

2. Soak application cloths in water before disposal

Era Coatings

Eracoat 45 Gloss: 45% solids, fast drying, durable coating system. This coating offers a clear finish with a good resistance to chemicals and abrasion. It can be recoated in half the time of traditional coatings which reduces the time required to complete the floor. It provides gloss level 85-95.
